Meet The Doctor


Monica A. Flynn, DMD

Monica A. Flynn, DMD, MS was born in New York and raised in Pennsylvania. She is an honors graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Dental School, where she was a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship.

In 1993, Dr. Flynn was one of ten dentists in the United States to be awarded a Dentist-Scientist Fellowship by the National Institutes of Health. This enabled her to come to San Antonio to complete her Periodontics residency and conduct research in bone biology. She has presented her work at national meetings and has been published in professional journals. She has also taught at three dental schools including conducting lectures at the dental school here in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Flynn is board certified by the American Board of Periodontology. She is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Southwest Society of Periodontology and the Texas Society of Periodontists. She is also a member of the San Antonio District Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association. On a regular basis, Dr. Flynn volunteers for the San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic, providing periodontal surgical services to the neediest residents of Bexar County.

In her free time, Dr. Flynn enjoys spending time with her extended family, which includes her two dogs and two cats. She also likes to travel, cook, read and listen to live music.
